Consumer Information

Properly Installed Hands-Free

To make certain you comply with the law on the use of your mobile phone while driving have a properly installed car kit. Please see the FITAS/Silver Award Scheme pages of the website for information as to accreditation of installers working to the UK code of practice - FCS1362.

Disposing of old phones

Recent legislation has meant that the way you get rid of your old and unused phones is now subject to strict rules. In the UK the mobile phone manufacturers and others work together in a consortium to provide information and guidance on how to dispose of old phones.

Complaints

If, as a consumer, you have a complaint against a supplier there are a number of courses of action you can take. The first step is to try to resolve the problem with your supplier under their own complaints procedure, but if there is no resolution of the problem the matter can be taken up initially with your local Trading Standards Office. Their phone number will be in the local telephone directory.

If you have a complaint about a telecoms service, which has not been resolved with your supplier, you can refer to the independent Dispute Resolution Scheme that they are registered with, which will be either Otelo or CISAS
