The Business Radio Group, formerly the PMR group, represents the interests of businesses and organisations involved in the manufacture and distribution of business radio products and services, organisations using business radio systems, Wireless Telegraphy Act licensees, spectrum managers, and system integrators. The group in has been active in supporting the business radio community since 1982.
The Business Radio Group is led by a Council of representatives from the group under the chairmanship of Roy Pierce of Procom. John Grant of Signature Industries is the Deputy Chairman
The Council meets quarterly.
Sub groups are set up to support sub sector projects: current sub groups include Critical National Infrastructure, Engineer training and codes of practice
The Business Radio Group chairman and members meet Ofcom staff regularly at the Ofcom BRIG meetings

The group stages the annual Business Radio event for the industry- Business Radio 09 will be held on 19 November 2009 in Daventry For information on last year's event click Business Radio 08

In 2009
FCS has published FCS 1331 - Code of Practice for Business Radio Site Engineering;
For the installation of radio transmitters, associated receivers and their ancillary equipment in base station sites, for use in the Business Radio Sector.
FCS has published a new code of practice the Light Licence Code of Practice for dealers, suppliers and users of the new Ofcom Business Radio Light Licences. The code summarises the three categories of the light licence, frequency selection, technical parameters, interference management and advises users to refer to recognised dealers
