The FCS Installers Group is formed of companies and individuals involved in the installation of communications equipment into mobile environments, particularly road vehicles. Group members, who all work to the FCS Ethical Code of Practice, range from large organisations with their own employed and sub-contracted installation engineers to experienced individuals providing installation services direct to customers. Many installer group members belonged to the Silver Award Scheme for Mobile Equipment Installers until that scheme closed on 31st December 2008. A replacement scheme, FITAS, was launched on 1st January2009. Details of both can be found here.
All mobile equipment installers are expected to comply with the Code of Practice known as FCS1362 - Explanatory Leaflet which contains guidance on best practice to provide a safe installation for vehicle drivers and their passengers.
Comms Installer is the annual convention for installers, their suppliers and customers with a conference, exhibition and demonstrations
