FCS Mobile Equipment Installer Award 2007- won by Gemini Tech

London 19 September 2007: FCS has announced that Gemini Tech is the winner of the 2007 Mobile Equipment Installers Award. Norman Allen of Gemini Tech received the award from Lord David Currie, Ofcom chairman, at the recent FCS AGM.

Matthew Harris, chairman of the judging panel, said, “We were looking for mobile installation organisations that could demonstrate good practice, high standards and commitment to customer service and we encouraged entries from companies of all sizes.

This year the number and quality of entries has increased and it is clear that applicants are putting more effort into competing for this award.  The result for the judging team is that it is harder to identify clear winners. We congratulate both Gemini Tech and Amatics, who was a close runner up.

“It is good to see that the industry is not stagnating but is developing innovation and use of technology to provide a better installation experience for the customer and is able to expand into new areas of telematics and intelligent transport.

“I look forward to seeing some smaller non-national submissions next year as we know there are some excellent installation businesses around the UK regions and we want to promote their excellence”

On receiving his award Norman Allen of Gemini Tech said “Gemini Tech is very pleased to have won the Mobile Equipment Installers Award 2007.  The cellular industry is very competitive with many good businesses, so to be recognised as one of the best is a huge boost to our team here at Gemini Tech.

“We have built our reputation on quality and professionalism and we all work hard to ensure our customers receive the best possible service.  The result is they return to us again and again as well as recommending us to friends and colleagues.

“We would like to thank the FCS, without whom we would not have had this opportunity, our colleagues in the industry who have supported us through the years, and of course the team at Gemini Tech for working to achieve this.”

Andy Hyatt, of Amatics said on receiving the runner up award, “Amatics is the UK’s leading service provider of vehicle tracking solutions to large utilities, local authorities, emergency services and field service industry.  Our objective is to provide reliable and effective management information that identifies areas of savings.  We further assist our customers in driving down costs, improving productivity, optimising asset/vehicle utilisation and providing an enhanced level of lone worker protection and compliance.

“The recognition of the FCS in presenting this award to Amatics instils both pride and pleasure to all Amatics employees and further enhances the commitment to both our customers and to the industry”
