Codes of Practice

NEW FCS 1331 – Code of Practice for Site Engineering 2022

The standard of the installation of radio equipment at the site is an increasingly important factor in the provision of a proper radio communications service to the end user.  At a minimum, the installation will affect:

  • the quality of the service provided to the customer.
  • the service provided by other users on the site.

And (critically),

  • the safety of staff while they are on site.

Business Radio system users and procurement professionals currently have very few references that provide them with a coherent means to construct contracts of supply that ensure an adequate quality of site engineering is obtained.

The FCS believes this Code of Practice is a major step towards meeting this need and ensure that the quality of the site engineering delivered to end users is adequate for the purpose and that crucial other matters are properly attended to.  It is proposed that procurement officers can simply require adherence to this Code of Practice in their contracts of supply.

The Code of Practice provides all the necessary information either directly within the document itself or through referencing to other fundamental documents.
