INCA – Independent Networks Cooperative Association
The Independent Networks Cooperative Association (INCA) champions independent networks for a gigabit-connected Britain. INCA is the trade association for the UK’s independent telecoms networks, bringing together operators, suppliers, and industry experts to shape the future of digital infrastructure.
FCS and INCA have many of the same objectives, so it is not surprising that our interests often align.
CONFEDERATION OF BRITISH INDUSTRY (CBI)
As a confederation, the CBI brings together businesses, trade associations, and universities with a shared goal of creating sustainable growth – for business and the economy.
DIGITAL POLICY ALLIANCE
The Digital Policy Alliance is an independent, politically neutral, cross-party organisation that informs policymakers on digital technology, AI, cybersecurity, and digital skills to promote a fair, inclusive, and resilient digital society.
FCS is an associate member of the Digital Policy Alliance which helps keep the FCS up to date with developments as well as giving a voice to FCS members.
TRADE ASSOCIATION FORUM (TAF)
As a professional Trade Association, the FCS is committed to the TAF Code of Conduct for the management of its own governance.
NICC
Common industry interoperability standards for network operations and best practice around the copper and fibre networks are authored and overseen by NICC standards (Network Interoperability Consultative Committee).
NICC is a technical forum for the UK communications sector that develops interoperability standards for public communications networks and services in the UK. It is an independent organisation owned and run by its members. FCS provides a frame of reference for NICC’s work with the resellers and communications providers / managed service providers who provide the bulk of the industry’s services to business customers.
OMBUDSMAN SERVICES
FCS members enjoy access to the Ombudsman Services: Communications Ofcom-approved Alternative Dispute Resolution scheme at no cost, as a benefit of membership. FCS members also receive discounted case rates.
Anyone who provides telecommunications services to members of the public or to small businesses with fewer than 10 employees is legally required by Ofcom to offer an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution service to ensure customer complaints are dealt with in a consistent and professional manner.
PICTFOR
The Parliamentary Internet, Communications and Technology Forum (PICTFOR) is the largest and most active All-Party Parliamentary Group. As an official All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) operating in the Houses of Parliament, PICTFOR brings together Parliamentarians from all parties and both Houses with key players in the internet, communications and technology sectors to engage with the most pressing issues of today and tomorrow.
PICTFOR is a good way for the FCS to represent the views of smaller CPs/resellers and to find out what is going on in the minds of legislators.
